The second instalment of the saga continues with 9 new tracks inspired by Nordic Viking themes, sounds & bands such as Danheim Fuimadane Heldom & Gealdýr.
An accomplished guitarist, Vinnie also played with Pete Best, former drummer in The Beatles before Ringo joined the fold. This brand new project showcases Vinnie’s incredible musical prowess and versatility, not only as a guitarist, but also as composer and musician.
On songs such as “Born Ironside Son of Ragnar Lothbrok,” as well as “Leif Erikson,” the artist showcases his ability to create timeless cinematic textures. On tunes like “Rollo Duke of Normandy,” and the epic closing number, “Valkyrie,” Vinnie showcases his ability to create music that defies the normal boundaries of folk-inspired music, going for a clean, polished and larger-than-life sound that’s truly epic!
These are only some of the highlights, but this album is an experience to be enjoyed as a whole, with all the 9 tracks flowing into one another.

This might be my favourite of Heilung. They've improved a bit on their later releases but their debut is still much meaner, and darker. Maria's amazing voice obviously steals the show but I also quite like Kai's too, especially on the live performance. In fact I'd say get LIFA over this IMO. The spoken word bits are really cool to hear proto-germanic in use but for relistening purposes they are going to be a bit obtrusive. Nevertheless the proper music here is on continual repeat for me.
